UMass Amherst Faculty Invited to Open Forum on Classroom Equity Action Plan on Feb. 27

The Faculty Diversity Team in the Office of the Provost will host the first of two Spring 2024 Classroom Equity Action Plan Faculty Forums from 1-2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 27, in the Great Hall on the second floor of Old Chapel. The forums are held in collaboration with the Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL), Instructional Design, Engagement and Support (IDEAS) and the Office of Academic Planning and Assessment (OAPA).
UMass Amherst faculty members who are engaged in Classroom Equity Action Plan work are invited to the open forum and can drop in any time during the forums. This is an opportunity to discuss the progress, satisfaction, concerns and activities implementing classroom equity actions in the class, and to connect with others across campus who are engaged in this important work.
The CTL and the IDEAS Team will be available to share information and resources, offer advice and answer questions about specific action items. Resources in the Teams Channel site will also be reviewed. The goal is to assist each faculty member, department and college to improve equity, belonging and connectedness in the classroom.
Registration is currently open, and more information about the Classroom Equity Action Plan and the February and April forums can be found on the Provost’s Office website.
