UMass Amherst Employee Resource Groups

The Office of Equity and Inclusion along with the Office of Human Resources invites faculty and staff to join in during the upcoming Employee Resource Group (ERG) Virtual Spotlight Sessions.

The ERG initiative was created to provide UMass staff and faculty with resources for professional development, networking, and mentorship, while also promoting the recruitment, retention and advancement of employees who are underrepresented in our community.

UMass International Staff and Faculty Network – Monday, Nov. 28 1-2 p.m.
Building connections, assisting in the transition to the UMass Amherst, and promoting a community and working environment for both new arrivals and long-time residents of the U.S., that is both welcoming and nurturing.

UMass Faculty and Staff of Color Network – Tuesday, Nov. 29, 4-5 p.m.
Fostering connections and developing community for employees from underrepresented groups at UMass Amherst and promoting an inclusive work environment.


UMass Veteran’s Network – Wednesday, Nov. 30, 11 a.m.-Noon
Working to make UMass Amherst a workplace of choice for veterans, reservists, and guardsmen, while fostering a community to support and encourage networking, career development and mentorship.

UMass Allies for Illness and Disability Access (UMAIDA) Network –  Wednesday, Nov. 30, 1:30-2:30 p.m.
Promoting a supportive network and work environment that is inclusive and accessible for all individuals with lived experience of disability, deafness, illness (chronic and mental), injury, neurodiversity and their allies. The group also focuses on ways to support the recruitment, retention, professional development and career advancement of employees with disabilities.

UMass LGBTQIA+ Network - Thursday, Dec. 1, 1-2 p.m.
Cultivating a more welcoming and respectful campus community for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans, Queer, Intersex and Asexual individuals, and their allies, with a primary focus on the retention, advancement and edification of UMass Amherst staff and faculty.

University Women’s Network – Friday, Dec. 2, Noon-1 p.m.
University Women’s Network (UWN) is a longstanding organization on the UMass Amherst campus that dedicates itself to promoting the personal and professional development of its members by networking, educating and supporting while also collaborating with other campus organizations throughout the state.  Established in 1981 by then Vice Chancellor of University Relations, Deirdre Ling, UWN has maintained a tradition of support and encouragement for all University women in their endeavors and aspirations for over 40 years.

Those interested in the ERGs but are unable to attend the listed times, can fill out this form and their information will be shared with members of the appropriate steering committee.
