UMass Amherst Earns Top U.S. News and World Report Rankings for Online Programs

AMHERST, Mass. – Online bachelor’s degree programs at the University of Massachusetts Amherst rank 19th nationally, according to a survey released by U.S. News & World Report, which also listed the university 11th for online baccalaureate programs for veterans. These rankings are up from 21st and 13th, respectively.

UMass Amherst's online bachelor's degree programs include University Without Walls’s interdisciplinary studies, the Isenberg School of Management's bachelor of arts in business administration and bachelor of science in hospitality and tourism management, the RN to BS program in the College of nursing and the bachelor of science in sustainable food and farming.

 The online undergraduate program in business offered by the Isenberg School of Management is ranked fourth in its category.

The list of over 360 schools with the best online bachelor’s programs for 2022 is based on weighted factors in student engagement, faculty credentials and training, student services and technology, and peer reputation. The weighting varied among programs.

In the area of graduate education, the College of Nursing ranked 11th for its online master’s program and sixth in nursing education.

The Online MBA program at the Isenberg School of Management ranked 12th in the general survey, up from 26th last year, and ninth for veterans, up 10  spots from 19th in 2021. The M.S. in accounting ranked 12th in the online (non-MBA) business program category and 3rd for veterans. This was the first year that the program’s information was submitted for ranking consideration.
