UMass Amherst Center at Springfield to Co-host Block Party Following Puerto Rican Parade Sept. 15
The UMass Amherst Center at Springfield, along with White Lion Brewing, will host a block party in Tower Square Park following the 34th Annual Springfield Puerto Rican Parade, from 2-6 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 15.
The free event will feature food, vendors, a DJ, offerings from White Lion and the opportunity to celebrate Puerto Rican heritage with members of the UMass and Western Massachusetts communities.
Prior to the Block Party, Chancellor Javier Reyes and Lidya Rivera-Early, executive director of government relations and Springfield partnerships, will lead a large UMass contingent in New England’s largest Puerto Rican parade, of which UMass Amherst is also a sponsor.
