Distinguished Professor of Afro-American studies Steven C. Tracy will provide a keynote address for a poetry forum in Wuhan, China on May 30 as part of his work as a Distinguished Overseas Professor at the Central China Normal University. Tracy’s talk, “The Genesis and Nature of ‘Tremble’: Anatomy of a Blues Performance,” will involve a recording of the song “Tremble” by his band, Steve Tracy and the Crawling Kingsnakes, as well as live singing and harmonica playing.

The forum will also feature renowned Asian American and feminist poet and Professor Marilyn Chin, who has won the PEN/Josephine Miles Award and was featured in Bill Moyers' PBS series “The Language of Life.”

In the coming months, Tracy will also be delivering a paper at a conference in Dalian, China and teaching two courses for graduate students at Central China Normal University.
