College of Education faculty members Torrey Trust and Robert W. Maloy have recently authored the new book “AI and Civic Engagement: 75+ Cross-Curricular Activities to Empower Your Students,” published in November by ISTE+ASCD.

This practical guide from Trust, a professor of learning technology, and Maloy, a senior lecturer, shows educators ways to integrate GenAI technologies as part of civic learning and student engagement across the grade levels. The book provides 28 learning plans, more than 75 activities, and more than 90 AI prompts that show educators how to design student-centered learning experiences aligned with standards for students established by the International Society for Technology in Learning (ISTE).

AI and Civic Engagement: 75+ Cross-Curricular Activities to Empower Your Students” is available from ISTE+ASCD and the code AICIVS can be applied to take off 20% the book’s price at checkout.
