Tickets Available for Annual Community Breakfast

The annual Community Breakfast will be held Tuesday, Aug. 28 from 7:30-9 a.m. at the Student Union Ballroom. The event is open to the public.

Jointly sponsored by UMass Amherst and the Amherst Area Chamber of Commerce, the breakfast traditionally marks the beginning of the academic year and offers a chance for community and campus leaders to meet newcomers, renew friendships and talk about plans for the year ahead.

Speakers at the breakfast include UMass Amherst Chancellor Kumble Subbaswamy; Peter Vickery, president of the Amherst Area Chamber of Commerce; and UMass Amherst student Emily Ishak.

John McCarthy, provost and senior vice chancellor for Academic Affairs, will present the Community Partner Award to Men of Color Health Awareness.

Tickets are $10 in advance at www.hotelumass.com/registration or $12 at the door. Free parking is available in the Campus Center Garage.
