Three Parking Lots to Receive Solar Canopies for Fall 2021
Facilities and Campus Services has announced that parking lots 21, 22 and 49 will receive solar canopies equipped with LED lighting this summer. The project includes the installation of ten electric charging stations. In addition, a battery energy storage system will be located between Stadium Drive and parking lot 22.
Solar canopy construction commenced on May 3rd and will be complete on August 15. This will allow for permit holders to return to the lots for the fall 2021 semester.
The battery storage system has a scheduled completion date of December 31. This project will have no impact on permit holders during the fall 2021 semester.
