Symphony Orchestra to Perform Works by Mozart, Shostakovich

The UMass Amherst Symphony Orchestra under conductor Morihiko Nakahara will perform Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s “Sinfonia Concertante,” K.364, featuring string faculty members Elizabeth Chang, violin, and Kathryn Lockwood, viola, on Monday, Dec. 10 at 7:30 p.m. in the Fine Arts Center Concert Hall.

The concert, which completes the fall season for the University’s top orchestral ensemble, will also feature Dmitri Shostakovich’s epic “Symphony No. 5.”

Tickets are $10 for the general public, $5 for students, seniors and UMass Amherst employees, and free for UMass students. Tickets may be purchased at the Fine Arts Center Box Office, by phone at 413/545-2511, or online at www.fineartscenter.com/musicanddance.
