The farmers’ market, started in 2011, offers students, faculty and staff the opportunity to purchase produce from the Student Farm and the Permaculture Initiative.

The UMass Student Farmers’ Market, a collaboration between the Permaculture Initiative and the Student Farm, will be open every Friday, from noon to 4 p.m., through Friday, Nov. 15 by the campus pond.

Each week's market will feature a unique theme:

  • Sept. 27: Sustainability Slammer
  • Oct. 4: Student Businesses Market
  • Oct. 11: Regular Market (no theme)
  • Oct. 18: De-Stress Market
  • Oct. 25: Halloween Market
  • Nov. 1: Fermentation Market
  • Nov. 8: Food Demo Market
  • Nov. 15: Clothing Repair Fair Market

The farmers’ market, started in 2011, offers students, faculty and staff the opportunity to purchase produce from the Student Farm and the Permaculture Initiative. Student vendors, ranging from artists to bakers, also sell their goods at the market. Student vendors or performers can still register as vendors for this season.

Those participating in the Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) program can pick up their share of produce at the market. The CSA program allows members of the campus community to support the student farm and collect 25 lbs. of in-season produce weekly for 10 weeks. The next subscription will open in March of 2020.

A special indoor holiday market is planned for Friday, Dec. 6.
