Spring 2021 Rising Researcher Call for Nominations
The nomination period for the spring 2021 UMass Amherst Rising Researcher student award program is open now through noon on Friday, March 5. This program recognizes UMass Amherst undergraduate students who excel in research, scholarship or creative activity.
The Rising Researcher award is designed to raise the profile of promising undergraduate students and to publicly acknowledge their excellent work. The program is co-supported by University Relations and Research and Engagement. See ResearchNext for previous winners.
NOMINATIONS
Faculty members are encouraged to nominate eligible students who are under their supervision. Nominated students are also required to submit an application. More information and nomination forms are found online.
ELIGIBILITY
Eligible students will be exceptional undergraduates (first year – senior), identified by their faculty mentor/advisor, who have demonstrated leadership and impact in their chosen area of study. Impact can take the form of research results/scholarly publication; innovation/entrepreneurial activities that may lead to the development of technology or formation of a business; or significant contribution to a creative work such as a book, collection of poetry, musical composition or theater/dance production.
RECOGNITION
Students will receive a custom-engraved award to signify this honor. Students and their faculty mentors will be celebrated in the spring. Student honorees are profiled in a wide selection of campus communications and events.
