SPHHS Announces 2022 Research Day Award Winners

The School of Public Health and Health Sciences (SPHHS) held its 25th Annual Research Day on Wednesday, April 6, in the Student Union Ballroom. The event, celebrated annually during National Public Health Week, is an opportunity for the campus community to learn more about the research and practice conducted by its students.

Altogether, nearly 50 presentations spanning all academic levels – including undergraduate, master's, doctoral, and postdoctoral presenters – served to highlight the depth and breadth of SPHHS student research. Presenters participated in a faculty-juried poster session based on content and presentation, and this year the SPHHS handed out awards in five research prizes. Dean Anna Maria Siega-Riz announced the winners live at the event conclusion.

"We were so thrilled to return to an in-person format for our annual SPHHS Research Day event," says Siega-Riz. "The enthusiasm from our presenters and attendees was palpable in the Student Union Ballroom! This beautiful new venue served as an excellent surrounding that allowed us to showcase the amazing work being done in the SPHHS. Thank you to all who made this such a highly successful event – from all the talented student researchers and the faculty members who sponsored their work to the many students, faculty and staff who turned out to support our student presenters."
