Spanish and Portuguese Studies Program Brings Choro das 3 to Campus to Present the Essence of Brazilian Music
The Spanish and Portuguese Studies program will host a pair of events this month by internationally acclaimed Brazilian musical trio Choro das 3.
A presentation, "Choro: The Essence of Brazilian Music," scheduled for 4 p.m. on Nov. 8 in Herter Hall Annex Room 231 will discuss the origins of Brazilian music in the 19th century and its evolution through today.
Choro das 3 will then perform in concert at 3 p.m. on Nov. 9 at the Eric Carle Museum in Amherst.
Both events are free and open to the public, but tickets for the concert at the Eric Carle Museum must be reserved in-advance from the museum website as space is limited.
Both events are sponsored by the Lidia Jorge Chair in Lusophone Studies, the Camões Institute, the Luso-American Foundation and Spanish and Portuguese Studies at UMass.
