The University of Massachusetts Amherst-based Western Massachusetts Health Equity Network’s MOSAIC film series continues April 21 with a sold-out crowd expected at Holyoke’s Divine Theater at Gateway City Arts. The series aims to highlight the visionary justice work of people of color in Western Massachusetts.
The film, in English and Spanish subtitles, was commissioned by the health network. Holyoke storyteller Michelle Falcón Fontánez, who seeks to make social change through photography, film, theater and installation art, was chosen to produce the film. Holyoke Community College professor Vanessa Martinez, who earned her Ph.D. from UMass Amherst, is among the diverse group of health equity leaders who discuss their stories in the film.
The series continues with events in Springfield (April 27, RSVP here), Great Barrington (May 5, RSVP here), Florence (May 11, RSVP here) and Turners Falls (May 18, RSVP here).
