The School of Public Policy Speaker Series Features ‘The Fight to Vote for the Right to Vote’

The School of Public Policy will host voting rights expert Gilda Daniels for a talk, “The Fight to Vote for the Right to Vote,” on Monday, Oct. 19, at noon, via Zoom.

Daniels is a voting rights expert and former deputy chief in the U.S. Department of Justice Civil Rights Division’s Voting Section, where she served in both the Clinton and Bush administrations. She is currently a professor of law at the University of Baltimore Law School and the director of litigation for Advancement Project’s National Office, a multi-racial civil rights organization. Earlier this year she published her first book, “Uncounted: The Crisis of Voter Suppression in America.”

The talk is open to the UMass Amherst community. Registration is required.
