Sally Campbell Galman Interviewed on Health Promotion Practice Podcast
Sally Campbell Galman, professor of children, families, and schools, was interviewed on the latest episode of the Health Promotion Practice (HPP) Journal Podcast.
Galman discusses her latest comics-based research paper titled “Wedges: Stories as Simple Machines.” Among other intersecting topics, Galman discusses how arts-based research methods can generate more socially just qualitative research with children, especially transgender and gender diverse youth.
She delves into how “identity scrapbooks” center authorship and control with the child, an interesting contrast to the adultist, cisgender frameworks so commonly found in scientific interviews. Listen to the interview. Read the full comics-based research paper.
