The Elaine Marieb Center for Nursing and Engineering Innovation has announced that registration is now open for this year’s Nursing and Engineering Innovation Symposium, which will be held on Wednesday, April 8 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Student Union Ballroom.
The theme of this year’s event is “Building the Next Generation of Healthcare Innovators.” The daylong symposium will feature keynotes, panels and interactive sessions where participants will share insights, research and strategies to empower the next generation of innovators transforming patient care.
The symposium is free and open to the public, with breakfast and lunch provided. Registration is available through the UMass Amherst Alumni website and the EMCNEI website.
Sponsored by the center and a generous gift from UMass alumni Mike and Terry Hluchyj, the event begins with breakfast, followed by remarks from Chancellor Javier Reyes starting at 9 a.m.
The symposium features two keynote speakers: Dr. Kirk Taylor, president and CEO of the Massachusetts Life Sciences Center, who will speak at 9:30 a.m., and Kavita Radhakrishnan, associate dean for research at the University of Texas Austin School of Nursing, who will speak at 1 p.m.
Research poster submissions will be accepted through March 2. For more information, including poster details and the full program, visit the 2026 symposium’s webpage.
