Portion of Eastman Road Closed for Repairs

A portion of Eastman Lane on the UMass Amherst campus is temporarily closed for repairs after a leak in a drainage culvert produced a roadway sinkhole. Detours are in place and officials are assessing next steps and a repair timetable, according to UMass officials.

The affected area is Eastman Lane, east of Sylvan Lot 44, up to East Pleasant Street. Lots 44 and 47 are accessible via North Pleasant Street to Eastman Lane. PVTA bus routes 33, 34 and 35 are currently not servicing Sylvan and Tilson Farm. Eastman Lane  is on campus and is managed by the university.
