Phi Kappa Phi Honors Botelho for Distinguished Service

Maria José Botelho, associate professor of teacher education and curriculum studies, was recently recognized by the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi for “Distinguished Service” to the university for her work in the local community through her writing and literacy workshops, as well as organizing the Five College arts program.

Botelho, who co-chairs the Five College Arts Integration Initiative, is working with College of Education alumna Jana Silver, a faculty member at Hampshire College, Martha Taunton, the director of art education, and others to establish a certificate program for undergraduates across the Five Colleges.
