Pedestrian, Vehicle Detours Scheduled on North Pleasant Street

Sewer line construction in connection with the Worcester Dining Commons project will require a series of pedestrian and vehicle detours on North Pleasant Street from the Integrated Sciences Building to the dining commons beginning Tuesday, Oct. 16 through Thursday, Oct. 25.

Phase 1.  October 16-17

Sewer line trenching will take place in the North Pleasant Street roadway, with vehicle traffic in both directions routed to the east and pedestrian traffic routed to the west side of the road.

Phase 2.  October 18-19

Sewer line work will take place on the east side of North Pleasant Street with vehicle traffic maintained in the roadway and pedestrian traffic routed to the west side of the road.

Phase 3.  October 20-24

Sewer line work will take place in the roadway with both vehicle and pedestrian traffic routed to the east.

Phase 4.  October 25-26

Sewer line work will take place on the east side of North Pleasant Street with vehicle traffic maintained in the roadway (bumped slightly westward) and pedestrian traffic routed to the west side of the road.

Throughout the project, police will be on hand to direct traffic. Drivers should expect delays, watch for detour signs and reduce speed.
