The department of communication disorders is looking for individuals 45 to 59 years of age to participate in NIH-funded studies of age-related hearing changes.

The purpose of these studies is to identify how early age-related changes in hearing influence the problems that people experience understanding speech. Participation will require one visit of approximately two hours in length. During this visit participants will complete tests of hearing and speech comprehension while standing and/or walking on a treadmill.

Participants must be healthy, native-English speakers who have no motor or neurological disorders that affect balance or walking. Participants will be paid $10/hour. If interested, please contact our lab at hearingbrain@comdis.umass.edu.
