Participants Needed for a Hearing Research Study

Adults 40 years and older are needed for a hearing study of how aging affects speech understanding in noisy backgrounds.

Researchers at UMass Amherst are seeking participants who do not have any concerns regarding their memory and cognition as well as individuals who have a medical diagnosis of mild cognitive impairment (MCI) or dementia.

The study will take place in participants’ own residences. Participants will use an iPad device and headphones to test their hearing and complete listening and memory tests. The equipment will be delivered to them, and they will have a phone or videoconference appointment with someone from the research team.

It will take approximately two hours to complete the study. Participants will be paid $20 for participating.
