Older Adults Needed for Study of Hearing in Noisy Backgrounds

Adults 55 years and older are needed for a hearing study of how aging affects speech understanding in noisy backgrounds.

Researchers in the department of communication disorders are looking for participants who have no concerns regarding their memory and cognition as well as individuals who have a medical diagnosis of mild cognitive impairment (MCI) or dementia.

The study will require one 2-hour visit to a lab on campus. Participants will have their hearing tested and will be paid $10 per hour for participating.

Call 413/545-0565 or email healthy-hearing@umass.edu for more information about the study and to find out if you might be eligible to participate.
