Old Chapel Bells to Ring in Remembrance of Sept. 11

The university will mark the 18th anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks on Wednesday with the ringing of the Old Chapel bells.

The bells will ring at the time of each of the attacks:

• 8:45 a.m.: American Flight 11 crashes into the North Tower of the World Trade Center
• 9:02 a.m.: United Flight 175 crashes into the South Tower of the World Trade Center
• 9:45 a.m.: American Flight 77 crashes into The Pentagon
• 10:03 a.m.: United Flight 93 crashes in Somerset County, Penn.

The university began commemorating Sept. 11 by ringing the Old Chapel bells in 2002.
