Office of Faculty Development to Host Workshop on Effectively Planning for Sabbatical

The Office of Faculty Development (OFD) at UMass Amherst invites faculty to Planning for a Productive and Restorative Sabbatical, a roundtable discussion that will address strategies for productively using time; managing sabbatical with family obligations; incorporating self-care practices so that you can return refreshed; and more. The workshop will take place via Zoom on Monday, Feb. 28.

Workshop organizer Sarah Poissant, OFD Chancellor’s Leadership Fellow and associate professor of communication disorders, will facilitate a panel of UMass faculty members: Audrey Altstadt, professor of history; Caitlyn Butler, associate professor of civil and environmental engineering; Gerald Downes, associate professor of biology; Elizabeth Miller, chair and professor of marketing; and Jonathan Wynn, chair and associate professor of sociology.

This event is part of OFD's Mid-career Faculty Workshop Series and is most appropriate for those planning their first sabbatical as well as those looking to make a subsequent sabbatical more productive. All faculty are welcome to attend.
