Obituary: Raymond Equi, Retired Custodian

Raymond J. Equi, 77, of South Deerfield, a retired custodian, died Jan. 17.

He attended Deerfield High School and graduated from Frontier Regional School in 1958.

An Air force veteran, he was employed at the former Farm Bureau grain mill in East Deerfield before joining UMass Amherst as a custodian in housing services in 1990. He retired in 2003.

He leaves his former wife Marie (Hatch) of Easthampton; their sons, James of Attleboro and Steven and his wife Stacia Reinhardt of Charlottesville, Virginia; and his brothers, John of East Longmeadow and Dino of Springfield, Virginia.

Calling hours at Wrisley Funeral Home in South Deerfield will be Sunday, Jan. 28 from 4-7 p.m., with a brief service on Monday, Jan. 29 at 11 a.m.
