Obituary: Marie Squires, Retired Library Employee

Marie Elizabeth (Goldstaub) Squires, 92, of Northampton, a retired library employee, died Nov. 9.

Born May 8, 1926, in Northampton, she was a member of Northampton High School Class of 1943, and graduated from Northampton Commercial College in 1944.

She joined the UMass Amherst Libraries staff in 1963 as a senior clerk and retired as a reference assistant in 1986.

The widow of James T. Squires, she is survived by daughter Susan Colgan and her husband James of Gill; son Joseph Squires and his wife Michelle of Northampton; and daughter Nancy Foley of Northampton.
