Obituary: Laura Martin, Retired Clerical Worker

Laura Frances (Dizenski) Martin, 91, of Athol, formerly of Leyden, died March 7.

Born June 10, 1926 in Hadley, she graduated from Hopkins Academy in the Class of 1944 and earned a certificate in secretarial sciences from the former Northampton Commercial College.

She worked in the sociology department, part-time from 1970-74 and full-time from 1974-80, when she moved to the art department, retiring as senior clerk-typist in 1991.

The widow of Robert L. Martin, she leaves her children: Robert J. Martin and his wife Shelly, of South Deerfield; Leana Taft and her husband Ross, of Gloucester; and Ramona Tomlinson of Leyden and her husband Tim of Sunderland; and her daughter-in-law Jean Martin of Greenfield.

Private graveside services will take place at the convenience of the family at South Leyden Cemetery.
