Obituary: Charles L. Tyburski, Retired Baker

Charles Louis Tyburski, 93, of Thorndike, a former head baker, died Jan. 6.

Born in Thorndike on Aug. 24, 1924, he owned and operated the Countryside Bakery there. He was also employed in the culinary department at Pathfinder Vocational Technical School in Palmer. He joined UMass Amherst as head baker in 1986 and retired in 1995. He also worked part-time for food services in 1995-96 and in Auxiliary Enterprises in 2001-02.

He leaves a daughter, Elizabeth Ann Yargeau of Sandwich, and a son, Thomas John Tyburski of Thorndike.
