Nominations Open for iCons Teaching Fellowship
The UMass iCons Program is now accepting nominations of UMass faculty members for the iCons Teaching Fellowship.
iCons Teaching Fellows will teach one iCons course for two to three years and receive professional development funding after year two of the fellowship. Faculty members may be nominated for the iCons Teaching Fellowship by current iCons students, their departmental head or chair, colleagues, or via self-nomination. Nominated instructors will be notified with additional information about the fellowship.
iCons’ mission is to inspire a diverse generation of innovators with the attitudes and skills needed to solve the problems facing the world. The 20-credit iCons certificate program consists of one course per year over three years, plus an honors-level thesis or project. Building on the disciplinary strength of each student’s major, iCons projects at all levels involve collaborative student teams working on case studies, laboratory experiments and research – all fostering cross-disciplinary communication and integrative problem-solving skills.
Fellowship positions are available in each of iCons’ four academic tracks – AI and the Future of Work, Biomedicine/Biosystems, Food-Water-Climate, and Sustainable Energy & Materials – and for all levels of courses across iCons 1-3 that include Junior Year Writing and lab/project experiences.
Nominations, which may be submitted on the Fellowship page of the iCons website, are due by Thursday, April 2. For questions on the iCons Teaching Fellowship, email [email protected].
