Nathan Chan Publishes Paper on Research in Resource Economics and Issues of Environmental and Racial Justice

A new paper by Nathan Chan, professor of resource economics, and his coauthors examine how research in environmental economics may systematically overlook issues of environmental and racial justice. This paper offers specific examples of how racial inequity may be furthered by work in the field through welfare and valuation methods, policy modeling choices, and treatment of the commons. Chan documents opportunities to improve the field by better considering how racial inequity may affect and be affected by Environmental and Natural Resource Economics (ENRE) analysis.
