Nakosteen to Address Retired Faculty Association

Robert Nakosteen, professor in the Isenberg School of Management, will speak about “Massachusetts’ Economy” at the Retired Faculty Association meeting on Wednesday, Nov. 14 at 11 a.m. in 917 Campus Center.

Since joining UMass Amherst in 1985, Nakosteen has acted as associate director of the Massachusetts Institute for Social Economic Research; director of master’s programs in business; forecast manager for the state of Massachusetts; and has been the executive editor of MassBenchmarks, a quarterly review of economic news and commentary, since 1997.

He was awarded the university’s Distinguished Teaching Award and the Isenberg Outstanding Teacher Award.

The retired faculty meeting will begin with coffee, tea, juice and cookies at 10 a.m.

At 10:40 a.m., retired associate chancellor and chief planning officer Bryan Harvey will speak on “The Demographic Cliff: Implications for UMass Amherst.”
