Anna Nagurney's book, “Labor and Supply Chain Networks,” has been published by Springer Nature. The book consists of 12 chapters, acknowledgments and preface, plus an appendix. The book has been published in both hard copy and online versions.
Nagurney, Eugene M. Isenberg Chair in Integrative Studies at the Isenberg School of Management, dedicated the book to “essential workers and to those fighting for freedom in Ukraine, with deep gratitude for your heroism.”
The book provides a spectrum of models with case studies using optimization and game theory with applications ranging from food supply chains to blood services supply chains and supply chains associated with disaster management. It demonstrates the importance of labor, proper wages and investments in productivity for the resilience and sustainability of supply chains, which have been disrupted due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the war in Ukraine.
