Muscle Physiology Lab Seeks Volunteers for Study on Fat and Muscle Strength
Researchers in the department of kinesiology are seeking younger and older volunteers for a study on how fat affects muscle strength.
Participants should be between the ages of 25 to 45 or 65 to 75, non-smokers, not pregnant, and free of neurological, pulmonary, cardiovascular and peripheral vascular disease.
Participants will be asked to undergo tests for body composition and muscle function, undergo an MRI scan on their leg muscles, complete muscle strength testing and wear a physical activity monitor for one week. The study consists of two to three visits lasting between two-and-half and four-and-a-half hours.
Free parking, health information and compensation will be provided.
