Morgan Donovan-Hall Receives New England Transfer Association Distinguished Service Award

Morgan Donovan-Hall, director of transfer admissions in enrollment management, was presented the 2025 New England Transfer Association (NETA) Sarah Elizabeth Crane Distinguished Service Award at the organization’s annual conference, held in Westbrook, Connecticut, April 9-11.
The award recognizes individuals who possess a strong sense of professional integrity, are guided by a collaborative spirit, made significant contributions to transfer students and are respected in the transfer field. Qualifications for the award include a deep commitment to professional development, regularly presenting at NETA and other conferences, and collaboration with colleagues from outside their school to ensure that best practices are shared across institutions. Award recipients also strongly advocate for degree completion at the community college level and ensure that all students, regardless of discipline, understand that their institution values those who complete their associate degrees.
“There’s no question that Morgan deserves the honor and the praise she’s received with this award,” Vice Provost for Enrollment Management James Roche says of Donovan-Hall, who this month celebrated her 15th year at UMass Amherst and in transfer admissions. “She and her transfer team work tirelessly with faculty and staff, both at UMass and other institutions, to ensure that our transfer students have the best possible experience. Morgan’s been a terrific leader for us, and a strong ambassador for the entire transfer community.”
UMass Amherst receives more than 4,000 transfer applications and brings in between 1,400-1,500 transfer students per year.
NETA represents a wide range of constituents, including higher education administrators, academic advisors, enrollment managers, registrars and admission representatives, as well as student affairs professionals. Each year, the organization hosts a conference and several professional development seminars.
