Memorial for Daniel Gerber Scheduled for May 8
The School of Public Health and Health Sciences will host a memorial for Daniel Gerber on Friday, May 8, from 3-5 p.m. in the new SPHHS Hub building located at 10 Eastman Lane. A virtual option will also be available for those unable to attend in-person.
Gerber, a senior lecturer in community health education and former associate dean of academic affairs in SPHHS, died last December. He devoted more than three decades of service to the SPHHS as a mentor, advocate and educator, and served as director of the undergraduate program in public health sciences, director of the online MPH in public health practice program, and as a senior lecturer in community health education. In 2018, he was awarded the Association of Schools and Programs of Public Health’s Riegelman Award for Excellence in Undergraduate Public Health Education.
