Media Passes Required for Journalists to Cover UMass Amherst Commencement on Saturday, May 18

Media representatives strongly advised to obtain passes by 4 p.m., May 14

AMHERST, Mass. – Media passes will be required to gain access to the field at Warren P. McGuirk Alumni Stadium for coverage of the Undergraduate Commencement ceremony at the University of Massachusetts Amherst on Saturday, May 18 at 10 a.m. Bestselling author and two-time Pulitzer Prize-winner Colson Whitehead is the featured speaker.

All reporters, photographers and videographers, including those from on-campus media outlets, must contact Office of News and Media Relations office manager Nancy Miller at: [email protected] to obtain passes for the ceremony. Passes will be available for pick-up in Munson Hall, room 109. Unless other arrangements are made, it is strongly advised that media representatives obtain their passes by 4 p.m. on Tuesday, May 14.

 

On Commencement day, the press needs to check in at the media tent on arrival at McGuirk Alumni Stadium. Due to expected heavy traffic, the press is advised to arrive by 8 a.m. to ensure timely access to the ceremony.
