AMHERST, MASS. – A virtual workshop, “Growing and Pruning Grapes,” is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Jan. 30, as part of UMass Extension’s popular home gardening series presented by Mass Aggie Seminars 2021.

Grapes are one of the most universally enjoyed fruits. Many of the new varieties have excellent taste, are winter-hardy and can make excellent wine.

While fun to grow, grapes present some challenges, such as knowing how to correctly prune them. UMass Extension lecturer and grape production expert Elsa Petit will provide an overview about grapes, with tips for growing and pruning them.

The virtual workshop costs $30, or $25 if payment is made by mailing in a check. Register online or print out a form to register by mail. Registration deadline is noon on Jan. 29.
