Kristen DeAngelis elected to the American Academy of Microbiology

Kristen DeAngelis, associate professor of microbiology, has been elected to fellowship in the American Academy of Microbiology (ASM).

The Academy, the honorific leadership group within the American Society for Microbiology, recognizes excellence, originality, service and leadership in the microbial sciences.

DeAngelis was among the top 65 fellows who are elected into the Academy this year.

The mission of the Academy is to recognize scientists for outstanding contributions to microbiology and provide microbiological expertise in the service of science and the public. It fulfills its mission by election to fellowship in the Academy, convening colloquia and oversight of ASM’s Awards Program.
