Ken LeBlond and Rizwan Ali Shinwari Publish Article in Ab-Original

Ken LeBlond, UMass Donahue Institute’s marketing communications manager, and Rizwan Ali Shinwari, UMass Amherst visiting fellow in political science, co-authored a new article in Ab-Original: The Journal of Indigenous Studies and First Nations and First Peoples’ Cultures titled “Combatting Stereotypes: The Media’s View versus Personal Experiences in Pakistan and the United States.”

This article addresses how one American and one Pakistani had their views shaped by American and Pakistani media and how their personal experiences in each other’s countries contradicted those media images. LeBlond and Shinwari met via the UMass Civic Initiative, a Donahue business group running international exchange programs since 2003.
