Jinseon Yook Receives American Society for Nutrition’s Bray Obesity Research Student Award

Nutrition graduate student Jinseon Yook has been selected to receive the American Society for Nutrition (ASN) George Bray Obesity Research Student Award. This award is given to three students in 2021 for outstanding research related to the causes, treatment or prevention of obesity.

Yook will be presented with her award, which includes a $500 prize, at NUTRITION 2021 LIVE ONLINE, ASN’s flagship meeting which will be held virtually from June 7-10. She was selected in recognition of her abstract titled Loss of Thermogenic Energy Expenditure via Targeted Deletion of Transferrin Receptor 1 in Adipocytes Instigates Hepatic Steatosis and Insulin Resistance.

Yook is a Ph.D. candidate in nutrition working under the mentorship of Associate Professor Soonkyu Chung.
