An Important Update on Building Access

As a result of the de-densified campus this fall, a limited number of buildings will now remain unlocked.

Certain buildings that host face-to-face instruction and research will be unlocked during weekdays, as well as buildings with in-person support functions (for example, the Whitmore Administration Building). All other buildings will remain locked. However, any UMass employee with existing UCard or key access to buildings will continue to have the same access.

Please refer to this map and a related list of campus buildings for their status.

Cleaning of Buildings

Facilities supervisors will be touring all buildings to review and audit levels of cleaning and disinfecting. Building occupants who have questions can contact the Facilities Solutions Center 24/7 at 413-545-6401, or work with their building coordinator or facilities customer service representative. For further details about cleaning protocols for unlocked buildings, locked buildings and research-active buildings, please read this summary.

These procedures have been implemented to prevent unauthorized access and to ensure the safety of university staff and property, and will be in place until further notice. Please stay updated on the latest guidance and news by visiting the campus reopening website at www.umass.edu/reopening.
