Hogan Recognized with Nurse's Touch Award

MaryAnn Hogan, clinical assistant professor of nursing, has been recognized with a Nurse’s Touch Award, presented by ATI Nursing Education.

Hogan, who has been teaching at the university since 1999, was selected as one of four winners of the award from more than 50 nursing educators, nominated by their peers around the country. The Nurse’s Touch Award honorees are chosen for their teaching skills, technical knowledge and setting an example for students.

An awards ceremony at the National Nurse Educators Summit, March 31-April 3, in Savannah, Georgia, will honor Hogan and the other recipients.

“With so many talented and caring educators in nursing, I am humbly grateful for the nomination and selection. Nursing students are the future of the profession, and it is a privilege to be able to touch their lives in small ways and enjoy seeing their professional growth,” Hogan says of the award.

“MaryAnn is the most thoughtful, deliberate and conscientious educator I have ever met ... truly a selfless colleague, a visionary educator and a passionate and compassionate nurse. Always cheerful, she encourages other faculty and staff, is kind and compassionate to our students and models excellence in leadership, communication, embracing change and the duty we hold as nurses to be excellent in our care,” says Maeve Howett, clinical professor and assistant dean for undergraduate education.
