Tenor William Hite, an assistant professor of voice, will perform “Die schöne Müllerin,” one of Franz Schubert’s best-known song cycles, together with guest pianist Jeewon Park, on Sunday, Sept. 30 at 4 p.m. in Bezanson Recital Hall.

Schubert created more than a dozen of these groups of poems set to music, each built around a common theme. The performance will feature settings of 20 poems by Wilhelm Müller centered on the theme of love unrequited.

The program is free and open to the public.

Hite and faculty pianist Gilles Vonsattel will present a second Schubert song cycle, “Winterreise,” on Nov. 8.
