HFA Gallery Walk: Exploring Writing Curriculum

Instructors from all disciplines and backgrounds are invited to participate in “HFA Gallery Walk: Exploring Writing Curriculum.” The event is co-hosted by the Junior-year Writing Program and the University Writing Committee on Monday, March 6, from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in South College E370.

Join others in exploring this gallery that will feature writing curriculum materials, such as syllabi, writing assignments or prompts, activities and (if suitable) student writing. The gallery walk will be followed by an informal discussion to exchange insights related to the gallery and writing instruction, more broadly.

The goal of the event is to provide a space, though briefly, that both recognizes instructors’ work and facilitates teacher exchange. Participants are welcome to view-only; to bring curricular works-in-progress; and/or to stay or forego the discussion portion of the event.

Organizers are seeking volunteers who are interested in sharing any number (one or more) of writing-related curricular materials that will be displayed at the gallery walk; materials may include syllabi, assignment sheets, writing prompts, activities or projects, other classroom resources, and if suitable, student writing that captures their curriculum in meaningful ways.

To submit, include your name; department and/or courses; a brief note to contextualize your work; and the curricular materials you would like to display, via pdf., Google doc., or Word in an e-mail Danielle Pappo at [email protected].
