Health Equity Network Co-Sponsors Transportation Justice Event
The Western Massachusetts Health Equity Network, led by the School of Public Health and Health Sciences, is hosting “Transportation Access as a Social Justice Determinant of Health” on Friday, March 23 from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. in 168C Campus Center.
The event is the first in a planned series of information and action sessions designed to demystify the seemingly complex policy issues that greatly impact our community’s health—housing, transportation and food.
These free, foundation-level information sessions will provide participants with the basic information they need to understand key state-level transportation, housing and food access policies and what actions individuals can take to influence decision-makers.
Guest speakers include Phineas Baxandall from the Massachusetts Budget and Policy Center and Andrea Freeman from the Massachusetts Public Health Association.
The event is sponsored in partnership with the Massachusetts Public Health Association.
