Amherst Town Manager Paul Bockelman invites the public to join him at the Post & Bean Cafe in the John W. Olver Design Building on Friday, Nov. 16 from 8:30-10 a.m. to discuss issues concerning the town.

The event is part of his Cuppa’ Joe with Paul series of meetings with the public.

Bockelman will be joined at the café by Brianna Sunryd, Town of Amherst communications manager. Sunryd is also a graduate student in the School of Public Policy. Friday’s session will focus on how the town can do a better job of listening to its residents and communicating news of the town to the public. Your ideas are welcome.

In addition, at 10 a.m., Amherst councilor-elect and UMass Amherst faculty member Steve Schreiber will lead a tour of the extraordinary Olver Building, which opened in 2017. Called the most technologically advanced cross-laminated timber building in the country, it is home to the architecture department, landscape architecture and regional planning, and the building and construction technology program. The tour will include some design studios, including one where undergraduate students are working on design ideas for a mixed-use building downtown on the former Bertucci’s site.
