Gerzina Edits and Provides Chronology for Frances Hodgson Burnett Collection

Gretchen Holbrook Gerzina, dean of Commonwealth Honors College and Paul Murray Kendall Chair in Biography, is the editor of “Frances Hodgson Burnett: The Secret Garden, A Little Princess, Little Lord Fauntleroy,” which was recently published by the Library of America.

The book contains three Burnett novels, other written materials by Burnett and remastered illustrations. Gerzina also wrote a chronology of Burnett’s life which is included in the book.

Gerzina is also the author of a Burnett biography, “Frances Hodgson Burnett: The Unexpected Life of the Author of The Secret Garden,” and is editor of several editions of “The Secret Garden.”

The book was launched two weeks ago by Library of America and the Central Park Conservancy at the Burnett fountain in Central Park. Here is a link to the book from the publisher’s website.
