The framework for institutions, educators and disciplines is being convened by the NASEM Board on Science Education to develop an evidence-based guide for equitable and effective teaching in undergraduate STEM education and provide an analysis of policies and practices at the departmental, programmatic and institutional levels that can facilitate implementation of its principles.

The 15-member committee, which held its first virtual meeting on April 17, will consider different teaching contexts, modalities and types of institutions, as well as strategies and resources needed for implementation.

A discussion draft will be released in late 2023 and input from stakeholders will be used to improve the framework before a final report is released in late 2024.

More information about the committee can be found on the NASEM website.
