Free Structured Exercise Program for Individuals with Pre- or Type 2 Diabetes

Researchers in the Department of Kinesiology in the School of Public Health and Health Sciences are looking for individuals with pre-diabetes or Type 2 diabetes who are interested in participating in a free, in-person exercise program three days a week on the UMass Amherst campus, from February through April.

As part of the Exercise Management for Special Populations undergraduate course headed by lecturer Judi LaBranche, the program hopes to attract 10 adults to attend 45-minute exercise programs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays starting at noon in Totman Gymnasium.

The program requires participants to provide a medical clearance and baseline blood measures. Completed registrations are due by Saturday, Jan. 25. For enrollment forms or more information, contact LaBranche at jblabran@umass.edu.
